Default MMO...how fitting...it's a MYSTERY!

Well, I'm stumped gang. I know there could be something else wrong with the motor, but it's an awfully strange coinscidence that it went south soon after the Marvel Mystery Oil was dumped in. After new plugs, fuel filter and draining the tank it still performs the same...like a turd! Any suggestions as to what else it could be? Poor idle, poor acceleration, backpressure and loud exhaust. Carb is "coughing" also.

If the stuff clogged the carb up, you'll have to take it apart. Clean the peices, and reassemble.

Just buy a carb kit, prior to starting. It will have all the gaskets you need for reassembly.

It could have plugged up something in the carb.

As was mentioned before, it maybe have dislogged a large piece of carbon and stuck a valve open.

ok guys, check this out! just for sh@ts & giggles i got in the van & turned the distributor a bit to see if it made a difference. whalla! it seemed to be a timing issue. i'm sure the timing is not absolutely correct, but this "tweaking" seemed to alleviate the problem 10 fold. i did have to adjust the idle down a little, but she runs good as new now. exhaust is a little on the throaty side, but i'll have it all checked out this week when it goes back in the shop.
