standard & auto trans????
If i find a 318 that came with an auto tranz ,what needs to be done to mount it to my 3spd manual.i have read what needs to be done but it seems i forgot more than i know,thanks again,,,speedfreak.

Just add a pilot bushing to the crank and bolt on your flywheel using the longer bolts and then mount the bellhousing and tranny. That's about it.

That's assuming that the crank was drilled and tapped for the pilot...

I meant finish sized. Most of the cranks were drilled, just not to the size needed for the pilot. The pilot bearing/busing goes in that hole. The input shat of the transmission then goes into the pilot bearing. If the hole is not the right size, then the bearing and input shaft will not fit.

ok thanks the pilot shaft bushing is the only thing l'll have to check out every thing else i can swap,,thanks again for the info,,,speedfreak

Hmmm... just thinking about your first post...
You don't mention what engine you have at the moment. If it's a slant, then you've got other considerations, haven't you? What engine is in there at the moment? |
