Front U-Joint - Challenger
I believe there are two types of U-Joints for a Challenger, 7260 & 7290. How do I determine which one I need to replace the front one.

Screwed in or pressed in, right? The "screwed-in" should have some sort of socket to take it out.

It is very easy to tell these apart. Measure the driveshaft INSIDE the yoke, or if you're looking at the bare u-joint, measure the distance between the keeper grooves, just inside the cups. The 7260 will be 2 1/8", the 7290 will be 2 5/8".
Cars without a Dana 60 did indeed use both of these joints. If you have a Dana 60, which does NOT use either of these u-joints, you will have a 1300 series u-joint. |
