Default What do you think?

I've been thinking of a Flowmaster 50 Series SUV for the XJ for over a year now and probably should buy one soon (like before winter!), what do you guys think of the ways these Jeeps sound with them (please ignore the giggling twerps in the second vid)?

Well I Guess You have to decide what sound you like , But I Didn't like either one . I think a V8 should sound like a V8 and a 6 should Not be heard at all. I am in the same boat as you , my jeep 6 needs a muffler yet soon . I am going to put a Dynamax Turbo muffler on it. Lifetime warranty and Flows pretty Good

Supposedly these are the same mufflers, just one in on an XJ and the other is on a Wrangler. I want something a little throatier, but not overpowering like the 40 series. We've had the Walker brand muffler on Dad's XJ, that one failed within a few months from being partially plugged new in box, so I've rather not get one of those.

They both sound great, and they both sound like a wonderful way to burn more gas!

I was planning on buying one of those with my next paycheck, but I have to replace the power window/door lock switch block as well as the resistor for the blower fan and the actuator rod for the HVAC door (had almost no heat last winter, and it was a cold one too!) which will cost atleast as much.

Six cylinders are better left quiet.

Did anyone notice the rattling noise from both of them? I think it is a blowmaster thing.

Problem is that I want to stick to the stock 2.25" diameter to help maintain torque for gas mileage and Gibson is 2.5" plus I've heard the Gibson mufflers make the 4.0l sound ricey.

Biggrin

Yes, but if you run it through a fart can and throw a wing on the back, nobody will notice, especially after you click on the glow lights and drift the 20's in the WallyWorld parking lot.
