We roasted a couple of chickens. The kids don't really care much for turkey and to be honest, I don't either. Roasted chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, deviled eggs, mac & cheese, yeast rolls, dressing and sweet potato pie. Great meal!!

I recently discovered the joy of beer can roasting. The website campchef.com has the keg roaster that makes cooking a turkey, duck, chicken, etc a snap. We used apple cider in a small soup can in place of the beer can for our Thanksgiving day turkey. Man is it moist and juicy. Just give the bird a good rubbing of olive oil and salt to lock in the juices. Cooks quicker than in the oven. Cleanup is a snap as you heat up the roaster to 500 degrees, after removing the bird of course.

Blessings,
Shakota
