Default i want a supercharger !!!

Also,

thinking about a supercharger

anyone have any feedback?

whats good?

whats bad?

will i blow head gaskets?

what will happen to the longevity of my engine?

I do not plan on standing down on it all the time !!

current setup:

318 v8 w/ mpp headers, mpp pcm, cold air kit, mpp 1.6 roller rockers, mpp camshaft.

410 gears w/ 33x12.50 tires

If you plan on 4wheelin I suggest not using a supercharger. They don't do too well in those conditions. Run less than 8lbs of boost, and you wont have to worry bout blowing headgaskets. Belley-pan gaskets are another story. Get an intake that is solid, or get those fasteners that hold more of it down. The 5.2 is a horse, and is known to take tons of abuse. If you have a good well-maintained engine I wouldn't think twice about slapping a blower on it. I've loved the vortech on my R/T. It's been parked for a few months though, cause the plenum gasket is blown. Have the parts to fix it, but not the time. For power, it's the best. Nitrous is cool, but there's nothing like having the power there all the time. I would suggest higher capacity fuel injectors, higher capacity fuel pump, higher capacity oil pump, and 160-180 deg thermostat. Spring for the inter-cooler if you can afford it.

The heat and dirt are usually not good for a supercharger. Some are more picky than others, but I wouldn't risk destroying a 3500 part playing in the mud. If you want to go 4-wheelin, I suggest a stroker, a good strong cam, and as high a cr as you can get.

oh, gotcha...i figured that's what you meant....

my idea of 4wheelin would be trails and backroads.....and taking the atvs to a campsite. i don't know if i could bring myself to drag my new truck through mud holes!!!! although, i've already done some hill climbing!!!
