440 oiling

Hello I am from the dirt track side of mopar chat but I am building a 400 stroker for my plymouth street strip car my old mentor as passed away years ago that used to restrick the oiling in my old 440 street car he used to drill out the left lifter galley and plug it and restrick the size of the hole I have forgotten the size I think 5/16 and then other modes it would live at 6800 all day Can any one refresh me on how to do this right
thanks SFR

oiling mods

How ya doin? So, 1st I'd suggest getting the MoPar engines book (so much knowledge) & the oil mods I do are; 9/32 drill bit @ 6" drill from main saddle to oil galley diagonal to lifter galley oil passage... & chamfer a few areas that have 90° angles,...now the method your asking about has to do with roller cam oiling (I'm pretty sure) I've been modifying my oil system for years this way with good results, I also run a 3/8" line from oil pump cover to rear of block (where oil pressure gauge go's) need to modify oil pump cover, also I use factory pick up & 1 external 1, modify pump (Mancini racing sells them) cover for 3/8" fitting ect....good luck
