Spring Carlisle

Spring Carlisle is less than three weeks out and I'm trying to fit it into my schedule. If you've never been to this event it's 150 acres of automotive wonderfulness. Mind you, it's not as awesome as the Chrysler show in July, because well, it's open to all makes. However, unlike the Chrysler show, the grounds will be packed. So if you can appreciate other makes, even if you would never buy one, this show is very worthwhile.

Keep an eye out for me, I'll be wearing a ball hat, jeans and a T-shirt.

Wet and Wonderful

Spring Carlisle, at least on Saturday, was a drizzled on soggy day, but a good day none-the-less. Lots of venders and lots of cars for sale and yet another confirmation that the aftermarket LOVES GM. That's OK, businesses are in business to make money.

I saw some very cool project cars, the most intriguing to me being a '58 Rambler American. It was in old primer and needed a ton of work; it was sporting a $4999 price tag. I liked the compact size and could see this thing making a nice hotrod.

The most expensive car I witnessed was a restored '60s Vette with a $116,000 asking price. and there was a '73 Challenger Rallye, 318, auto for $29500. Just like the one I sold a decade or so age for $3500. Sigh.
