How To Fix / Replace Seat Recliner Assembly?

I've got a 1996 Dodge Ram 3500 pickup, with 40/20/40 split power seats.

Something in the reclining mechanism on the drivers seat failed and I was left with the seat laying flat against the rear seat. After a few days the side of the seat where the recline handle is has fully seperated.

I haven't been ablel to find a suitable replacement seat for the vehicle, closest I could get was an off-color (and torn) manual seat. But the recline assembly in that seat is fine.

I would like to replace my broken assembly with one from the donor seat but never done this sort of repair before. If anyone has suggestions / information please let me know.

I will try to get some pictures of the damage and post later if anyone needs to see it. I'm not sure what part of the assembly failed, or if it was some other part of the seat or what.

Also, I can see how the fabric comes off the lower seat, but for the back of the seat there's a seam along the bottom where the back and bottom seats meet, before I pull that apart can I get it back together without some specialized tools or materials?

Thanks for any tips,
Nick
