duster wiring

not sure where to put this but ,I don't have side marker lamps at all 4 corners, pulled head lamp switch every wire works right, does anyone have pics of this circuit. The lights in grill and tail lights work right. Thanks everyone

What year are you working on? Believe it or not these cars are not "all the same."

But generally, the side markers were separately grounded, IE they are two wire sockets. They are tied into the park / tail light circuit so if those work, you are getting power that far.

forgot the important stuff 1973 duster 225 . white plastic sockets push in 194 bulb
.

Mymopar.com has wiring diagrams.

well checked out my mopar ,looks like they didn't list dusters in schematics ,would you think the dart is the closest to them?(looks like they get power from tail/grill marker lamps sockets I didn't have power on any of the side marker lamps sockets ,this doesn't seam possible from schematics)

When you say, "every wire works right," what do you mean? Is there voltage in and out of the headlight switch? Did you check for voltage at the light units?

There was no power on any of the side marker lamps sockets ,but the front grill/tail lamps work fine .maybe I'll look at it again tomorrow when its not 100deg out side maybe I overlooked something simple. thanks for the replies.

The MyMopar diagrams are not always correct, and not always complete. They are far better than nothing, and for some problems, easier to follow than the factory ones. Generally, Dart, Valient are pretty much the same except for Rally Dash cluster, etc

There's a 72 shop manual posted over at FABO, but there were changes between 72 and 74, and I'm not sure whether 73 is closer to one or the other. I have a paper manual for '74, so that's a PITA to post material online.

finally got all 4 marker lamps working the problem was bad test lamp bulb. The real problem is all the new #194 bulbs I have don't fit right in the sockets, had to cut a plastic straw into little strips to shim/ raise the bulbs up so the little wire contacts could touch the brass contacts in the sockets these sockets are not damaged .I guess there made in china (the bulbs), but they did work fine in the dash board sockets.

Usually, if a bulb works in one socket but not another, the problem is the second socket. Maybe you can raise the contacts in the socket with a jeweler's or eyeglass screwdriver. Test equipment that lies to you will send you off on wild goose chases, not to mention really pi**ing you off! Electrical testing can be tough enough if the testers are known good. And, yes I've made that mistake (and many others)!
