Default PT Cruiser Engine Conversions

Hi! I'm new to the forums here and was hoping that I would be able to find out how many PT Cruiser owners have either gone through an engine conversion (to a larger engine - V6, V8, V10 or whatever) or are interested in doing so?

I'm also curious to find out if there are any companies out there that specialize in this? I know that there was a company called Automotive Innovations that converted the PT into using a Hemi, but I can't seem to find any current information on them.

To do a V6, V8 or V10 you are taking about a tube chassis and driving from the back seat.

Not necessarily. From what I've been able to read about some swaps to Hemi's is that the conversion involved trimming out some of the front and a bit of the firewall in order to fit the engine into the bay, and then they used a rear wheel drive setup. As for the Viper swap, my understanding is that the engine was actually placed in the rear of the car, taking out the rear seats and trunk, and going with a rear wheel drive setup as well.

What would be really nice is to hear from some body who has done an engine swap, or at least seen first hand what was involved in doing a conversion. Anyone can always speculate what would need to be done, but to actually have gone through it is the best for information and details.
