Exhaust Manifold Studs
Well, my "Hemi Tick" has gotten progressively worse and startup in the morning sounds like parts are going to blow through the hood. It quiets down as it warms up. My dealer knew exactly what it was, broken exhaust manifold studs. I was told it is a common issue that they have experience with. If the stud is broken off flush with the head, they weld a nut on top and turn it out. It can run $200 to $300 if they don't run into problems.
There is a fair amount of info on the web as well as videos. Unfortunately, the replacement Mopar studs are the same and eventually they will fail too. |
