Ignition trouble
I need some help please.
1980 Plymouth Trailduster. Tilt wheel. My ignition switch has been acting funny lately, meaning I have to turn it a few times for it to engage. Today it quit. I replaced the lock cylinder (needed to anyway) and installed new ignition switch. No dice. I can cross it over with a screwdriver under the hood and it cranks but won't start. Still no headlights or anything that operates from the ignition will work. New battery, starter, voltage regulator, etc. have been installed less than a year ago. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. |

Both my '97 and '06 Rams have had similar problems because I use the tilt wheel every time I get in or out of the truck. There is a connection that is very snug and wires have been pulled loose from the tilt wheel use. That would be the first place I would look.

Problem solved. Connection at the terminal of fusible link was loose. Cleaned and tightened.
