Unhappy

Was out driving today and noticed that I don't get near the jolt on the 1-2 shift that I used to. Under part throttle, can't even notice the shift now. I figure I need to go in and adjust the bands, but does anyone else have any suggestions? Vehicle has 17k and the shift kit has around 6k.

Check out your throttle pressure clip and see if ist on there tight...if not it might have moved. Move it towards the rear of your truck about an 1/8 of an inch and see how it does.

Yes, the fluid level is fine and no I haven't checked the throttle cable yet. I'll check both of them (again) and let you know. Thanks for the help.

You know, RT, we probably didn't exceed the max trailer weight, so I sure hope that didn't contribute to the problem. Playing with it tonight, while wasting a Jetta V6, manually shifted the 1-2 and it was fine. Just the auto shift is soft.

Just for everyone's knowledge: looking for info on this problem, HankL sent me a link to a diesel tranny Q&A site. Reading through it, there's a post about a sluggish 2-3 shift. The site suggested that if you shift manually and it shifts fine, then something is wrong with the valve body. If you shift manually and it shifts the same, then something is wrong with the tranny. Good thing mine shifts fine manually. To be continued.......
