first of all, whats the REAL difference eg. power, fuel economy, price, what is does.
second, wich one do you get the most bang for your buck? third, if I get Twin turbos on my V8 is that better than 1 turbo/supercharger? fourth, wich would you recommend? thanks alot. By the way is for a 4.7 Dodge Durango if that helps. |

Turbos have the advantage in efficiency and maximum power. They will give better fuel mileage. The weakness of turbos is that they need to spool up, so there can be some lag. Using two turbos on a V8 can reduce the lag.
Superchargers will usually give better low speed performance and throttle response, although the centrifugals are not as good as the PDs. Superchargers are usually easier to install and slightly cheaper. There are kits available for many vehicles. On a truck, I think I would go with a medium boost (8 psi) centrifugal supercharger for the best overall satisfaction. |

bigger turbos do need more spool up time
but they give you more bang- 2 smaller ones will give you less spool up time-i have an89 indy pace car trans am-with 3.8 liter gran national turbo motor-13.04 stock at 16.5 lbs boost 12.39 with 21lbs of boost and 100 octane race gas-stock turbo-te 28 went to te72- with bigger injectorsand added 2 extra injectors inintake pipe- 11.021 at 120mph-all stock in motor- lets see supercharged 6cylinder do that-phil
