Cool

Talked to a friend of mine today and it seems there were two engineers visiting the plant a few weeks ago from Satillo Mexico where the 5.7l will be built and they let on to some HP numbers that sound pretty good. I was told somewhere in the rang of 300-310 HP.

Sounds good to me. Question is now what will the V10 be rated at. They wont have two different engines with the same numbers.

The next generation Viper V10 goes to 505 cubic inches and up 50 horsepower from 450 to 500. The truck V10 also goes to 505 cubic inches from the present 488. I would guess it will be rated at 350 - 375 horsepower.
Too bad neither V10 will be available for the lighter weight 1500 series of Rams. But one can hope.

I cannot wait until Dodge gets their butts in gear and releases the new Hemi’s. I am sick and tired of people flapping their gums about Chevy. Come on Dodge lets get this done

Thumbs up Hemi Power!!

Hopefully the new 5.7 Hemi will be able to keep it's head on the sunny side of 15 mpg!! 18-20 mpg would sure be nice!!

Even if it doesn't give much of an increase in mpg 300 hp will sure be fun!!

This has been posted before,
but AI magazine had this article on the new design DC Hemi.

Unfortunately, the 6.1 Hemi got hit by the cost-cutting axe earlier this year.

The 5.7 Hemi has had problems with camshaft bearings and didn't pass its EPA emissions test on the first go round.

I heard that the 353 ci 5.7L Hemi was supposed to make as much power as it has cubic inch hence 353. What did they do,de-tune it way down?
