IAT sensor Redux
Hey all,
1st, let me apologize, I know this subject has been done before, but I just did a search, and it came up with nothing. Background: Even on the hottest day (and we've had quite a few here in Northern Illinois lately) my 5.9L runs waay better when the temp guage is reading mid-way between 0-210. The Closer is gets to "normal" operating temps, the perf drops noticably. I read here (and elsewhere) claims that relocating the IAT sensor to the intake "hat" or farther- upstream will make the cool engine-conditions performance I describe more or less the norm, rather than just when the engine's "cool". I also read that the PCM "compensates" as the engine heats-up, and relocating does "no-good". What's the real story? Thanks, (and sorry for the rehash) Tom |

you can do the AIT mod if you want to, however, with what you are describing, I'd get a 180 Deg thermistat and put that in Your truck will run cooler thus giving the better perfomance and extending the life of your engine. Two plusses in my opinion
