Default Gibson, DynoMax or Flowmaster

I have narrowed it down to the Gibson dual split rear superflow muffler, the DynoMax ultrflow dual exhaust, or the FLowmaster 50 series dual exhaust. They are all cat back systems. I would like it to have an attention grabbing deep sound to it but not so loud in the cab. If you have used these products or know of anyone that has them, please give me your input. Thanks

I had 2.5" single exhaust on an 80 cordoba with a 360 and had a Walker Supper Hemi Turbo muffler. That sounded mean. It had a deep tone, almost like a really deep glass pack.

Flowmaster is known for it's drone inside the cab. That can become very annoying after awhile. Just my .02.

Dynomax all the way!
That is what I have put on my last two trucks.
Not as loud, and perform as well as the Flowmaster without the dreded drone in the cab, but louder than Gibson. Gibson is not that much louder than stock set-up to me. My buddy has Gibson split-rear on his Ford F-150 and he was disappointed in the sound compared to my 2.5 single out set-up with Dynomax vs. his duals. Hope that helps

Default Flowmaster

I have a Flowmaster American Thunder system on my truck which has the 50 series muffler. I get no drone in the cab and I feel it isn't loud enough. I may go to a Dynomax Bullet!

I have a 50 series Delta flow on my truck. It sounds good, and it's not too loud, but it has gotten louder than when it was brand new. Mostly it's louder inside the cab. I'm probably going to swap for a 70 series. I don't like the competitors that use ANY type of packing. The exhaust temps are really high on new trucks and the packing burns out no matter what they say.

Flowmaster 40 series, and I love the "drone" that I hear.

I thinking of changing to a Spintech muffler though.

Default Exhaust systems

Thanks for all your posts guys. I am still not set on one though. Anyone that has used these systems and knows exactly what they are going to sound like, please give me the details. Tell me, out of the three, which one is your choice. Thanks.

Gibson Dual Sport, sounds good outside, not alot of noise in the cab while cruising, you do get noise inside when you open the throttle, my wife hates it

Same as what he said. Although I feel I could have gotten as good of a sound by buying a cheaper muffler.

I went with the Gibson single side exhaust because I was afraid of crushing the rear pipes off road. As it was I flattened the side exit pipe a couple of times but I'm sure that the rear exit pipe would have faired worse. I have the Gibson cat back installed on a 99 4X4 shortbed with 5.9 and haven't had any problems over the passed 3.5 years. If I were to do it all over again I may have gone with the Stainless since the aluminized has maybe a year left to it before it rusts through. You should evaluate the two types of materials based on your winter climate and the amount of salt on your roads.
