97 Ram front U-Joint replacement
I have a 97 Ram 1500 4 X 4 in need of front U-Joint replacement.
My question is. To pull the passenger side axle, do I have to remove the auto locker on the axle housing first or should the axle just slide out when the bearing assembly is loosened? |

I just replaced one on my 96 yesterday. Just take out your 3 hub bolts 15mm you may have to pry your hub loose but leave axle nut on and pull whole assembely off and your axle shaft will slide out with it . Quick and easy only about a 30 min. job hope this helps.
