Default Can you guys help me out?

I'm going to be buying a mid-to-early 90's Diesel pickup pretty soon, and I wonder if anyone can point me to a website where I can find milage comparisons between Dodge, Ford and Chevy. Yes... I'm convinced on the Ram, but my Chief Financial Officer says I can get a Ford or Chevvie cheaper - Soooo - can you help?

If "cheaper" is the only criteria for selecting a truck, then you won't be able to convince them otherwise.

If it's MOPAR, that's what counts in my book & nothing else!

You can use the Edmunds website and show him how the Dodge maintains its resale value longer than brand X.

Thanks. "Him" is my beautiful wife, Audrey.

I'm looking for as many arguments as I can get in behalf of the Dodge. So, I'll be checking Edmunds website. But, since we keep our vehicles pretty much forever, resale isn't really an issue. Long-term costs are, including fuel and maintenance, initial price, etc., but excluding resale.

Thanks, again

My bad... I should have known that the CFO was your wife... LOL for some reason I was thinking work related... LOL

The link worked for me. but it is http://www.edmunds.com

They also have vehicle ratings on the website. One of the best things that I can think of is the fact that the Dodge Ram is the only pickup with the Cummins engine. The Cummins is the most reliable Diesel on the market (both cunsumer and commercial).

Today I found a '98, SLT Diesel 2500 4X4, short bed, extended cab (that's the 4 doors where the back doors are invisible), automatic, limited slip, Anti-Lock brakes, A/C, CC, Power seats, locks, windows, split bucket seats, sliding window, tow package, factory Dodge bed liner, tilt wheel, AM/FM Cassette, and running boards. It's the SLT Sport trim package, and it has 69,000 DMV certified miles. They want $10,000 and my '90 Ford 1Ton dually (460 cu in).

Whatcha think??

You would need to price them out at Edmunds, to be sure, but that sounds like a reasonable ballpark number. I would try to get an extra $500 for your truck and get them to knock off an extra $500 from the one you want to buy.
