Default Difference between ram hemi & durango hemi?

The hemi in the ram 1500 is rated at 345hp and the one in the durango is rated at 325hp. What's holding back 10hp in the durango?

Is it a restrictive intake or exhaust?

Thanx, Rob

The primary difference is the exhaust system.

Maybe someone who owns both a Ram and Durango could mount an exhaust pressure gauge in front of the muffler and report back the pressure at full throttle and 5000 rpm?

I would bet the Durango would have something like 7 psi and the Ram about 4 psi to create a 10-20 hp difference.

Thumbs up Makes sense

Makes sense to me. The Durango is a compromise vehichle. Check out their ads, they show the soccer mom and the guy both getting what they want in one vehicle. Not really true. Real men drive pickups, not SUVs. They obviously quieted the exhaust note on the SUV, so as to not upset the soccer moms. Hey, if I bought a "Hemi", I would want to hear that distinctive exhaust note!
