How far do you drive it after it eventually starts?

I don't drive it-just start it ocasionaly-use the van for trips-last one was Daytona last oct.-it has done this before but I have started it by turning the key off-on-off-on when it has acted up. been studying the ram van service manual-narrowed it down to ASD or fuel pump relay-am new to this multi-meter work. any suggestions and thanks for your reply, Billy Bob.

Not sure what is causing it........
but when it does it you should be able to take the batt cable loose for 2 minutes and re-connect and it should start.

went out this a.m. and the van started right up--just like nothing was ever wrong. taking the batt cable off for 2 min. did nothing. been reading this forum [and other forums] along with the '92 ram van service manual for the last week or so and learned alot. still don't know why it didn't start but the next time it acts up i'll know i can at least get past 1st base. cleaned the 60 way connection and batt cables. seemed to help. been driving it all day. also learned how to read the codes. got a 12 on it now. we all know what that is; don't we vern? and how come this forum don't have a van section? Tarrbabe, be headin right by you next wk. on my way to fla.

In TX, vans are registered as Trucks....

IN KY. VANS ARE REGISTERED AND TRUCKS ARE NOT |

Well!........I never.... J/K!!
My Point was; Truck/Van, same/same (in general). ....Seriously, I wish that registrations weren't needed on all vehicles here, but unfortunately, ANY vehicle in this state that is driven on a public roadway has to be registered . It would save me some $$ each year if it weren't required. J. Campbell |

oh well...I lied...one has to register trucks in kentucky--just trying to throw a little humor in it--if ye have antique tags, you don't ever have to reg. 'em again--one time deal--- my '73 1/2 ton van,'55 chevy pu, couple old xlch's and 2 sweeds have antique tags. again aggrivated w/'92 van not starting. doin good now though. I'll tackle it w/ a little more info next time it fails to start. BTW; takin that sporty to daytona?

I have been really busy lately so I haven't been in here in a while. Sorry but I am not familiar with the ASD. As far as the sporty is concerned, I've recently sold it to my older brother and purchased a new '06 FXSTI Softail Standard, and I love it. As for Daytona, my family and work schedules won't allow me to get too far out of town right now. My son (11) and daughter (13) are involved in a lot of things, and my wife has just finished up real estate school so it's kind of hard to plan to go anywhere these days.
Good luck with the Van. I'm sure if it is still giving you problems, and you can provide enough info, someone here will be able to help you fix it. J. Campbell |

me and the wife are retired. it's called lolligaging now. glad you like yer '06 H_D. good choice of bikes. as for the '92 van, been starting every time. I truly think the 60 way conn. was dirty and not making a good connection. nothing wrong w/asd. my son,31yo, bought a ,06 springer softail last wk. it's a nice bike too. now for an update: me and the wife bought new vehicles. her a 300C hemi and me a ram 2500 4X4 laramie w/cummins. nav. and satellite. needless to say; two awsome vehicles. got a '89 van also that we drive daily. might say we be MOPAR.

hoped I would not have to get back in this thread; but HELLO.... '92 van won't start---quit on me couple days ago on I-71 N. to Cincy--just like ya cut off the key---at 2:15 a.m. of all times---- I was headin to De Graff, OH. for "CUBFEST". all I had was a GERBER tool--took off the 60 way conn.--put it back on--buggered up the bolt real good using the plyers--back in the van--thought I would wait until daybreak and walk out--WRONG-- semis go by real fast and rock the van sittin on the side of the road. finally made the move to walk in the dark---walked all the way to the next county--police came by and took me to a rest stop and called the wife-- she came and got me at 5:15 a. m.-- I think she was still asleep-- ANYWAY -- I've been startin it every so often since feb. w/no problem. Last time it was drove was to Daytona last oct. I only use it for trips. And here's the fun: code was 23--waiting on part to get here--air temp. sensor-- hope springs eternal-- will post if that's the culprit. OH YEAH___ $120.00 smackers to tow 31 miles--
