82 Mirada 360/999
After 20 years, gotta sell the old girl. I'm worn out, health issues won't let me enjoy the hobby anymore. (Still a Mopar guy - bought a black-on black 300M)
Dodge Mirada's were a low-volume version of the 80-83 Cordoba, with a grille from a 1942 White half-track and a plain-Jane tail panel. They were the last rwd 2-door Dodge car until the Viper. Mine has been thoroughly transplanted with a 78 Ramcharger 360 bolted to an '80 999 orig. spec'd for 360 cop/taxi work. Purple shaft '2759 cam, correctly set-up TQ on the stock iron manifold. Coated Hedmans through a custom 2 3/4 system w/H-pipe. Car has approx. 150,000 total klicks, 40000 on the current engine and powertrain. Engine done by Buck Kinney in Metro Vancouver Tranny frictions, steels, servos, seals and bushings just done by me - zero miles on it. Undercarriage is from an 85 Plymouth R.C.M.P. copcar, 7/8 rear bar, 1 1/8 front bar, 5-leaf rear springs with new urethane isolator pads. 3" driveshaft straightened and balanced by Greene's Automotive in Metro Van. Axle is 8 1/4 from the copcar - 2.94 gears and a new Auburn Suregrip, assembled with new bearings by Rear Ends Only in Burnaby. 15" x 7" cop wheels painted Argent , dog dish caps and 'Vette aftermarket trim rings. Other misc. cop stuff includes p.s cooler, and trans aux. cooler. Rad is a 28" a/c unit from a 5th Ave. 7-blade fan with a new Hayden clutch. Front brakes are 11.75 late B-body units. All brake linings are 80% good or better. DOT5 silicone fluid in recently o'hauled hydraulic system, new calipers, master and wheel cyls. Tires are 275/60x15 rear, 255/60x15 fronts. Interior is fair. Needs a new carpet and all the window rubber of course. Seats have been covered and are in good shape. Headliner was replaced in 2000. Body is straight exc. for a crease on pass. door. Paint is original, and mostly gone, down to red oxide on roof, trunk, and hood. Rust through in one spot, l/r 1/4 behind wheel. Rest of car is rust-free including floors. Glass and trim are all good, carpet holed under driver's heel area, rest of upholstery good. All the rebuild and major mtce is documented. 1982 Factory Shop Manuals are included, as is a spare inst. panel and heater box assy from an older Cordoba. Plus numerous spare bits and pieces. I prob. have $15,000 in hardware here, plus labour. I'll be happy to see someone finish the project in return for $3100. (U.S. or Can. $$ - I'm not fussy!) Are you listening, all you paint and body guys?? I'm located in Princeton BC, 45 minutes from the Hwy. 97 border crossing to Oroville, WA in the Okanagan, and a couple of hours from the Hwy.11 crossing north of Lynden WA. I can deliver the car (Under it's own power!) to either point if the deal is right. I'll put some pix up soon. PM here or e-mail 82dodger@gmail.com |
