Default '73 'cuda hood release cable

I have a '73 'cuda non-a/c with the vents. I've had the car a long time but never noticed that the hood release cable doesn't look like its routed correctly and i'm affraid the cable is going to brake at the handle. Right at the handle it maks a sharp 90 towards the stearing column then runs in front of the vent then goes thru the firewall to the left of the steering column looking form inside. does any one have a picture from inside how it should run and what hole in the fire wall it goes thru. Just want to re-rout it before it breaks.

-thanks
