Default 53 chry windsor

I am in ned of some info on a 53 windsor flat head 6. is this car pos ground? the headlights work but the park lights and brake lights do not. where are the fuses? the trans is a auto matic but has a clutch. how many speeds is it? the car has sat for a long time but runs good. the only way it will shift is if you let off the gas. is this normal also the owner wants the trans fluid changed the trany has a tag on the side that says 10 w motor oil only. i am having trouble finding any and wa told hyd fluid will work is this a acceptable replacment? thanks foe the help, keith c.

All Mopars, 1955 and older are 6 volt, positive ground. The 12 volt negative ground system didn't start until 1956. All lights except the back up lights have circuit breakers on or near the light switch. The circuit breaker for the back up lights is near the windshield wiper switch. The radio fuse is inline to the power for the radio. If you have these options, the air conditioner blower has a circuit breaker on the switch, the circuit breakers for the power seats are under the seat thru 1956, and the circuit breaker for the electric windows, is at the left front kick pad, if so equipped. On the M-6 transmission used thru 53, it indeed does use Sae 10W engine oil for lubrication. I would use non detergent, but anything is better then leaving it low. Just drain and refill after cleaning the oil strainer and magnetic drain plug. There is a hydraulic fluid that will work, it's available at farm supply stores and similar, will try to check and find out, or check out the people at the P15-D24 website, they know their flatheads. the addie is:
