Default Wiper Motor

Ok I am haveing a nearly impossible time getting a 2-speed wiper motor for mym Duster. I got one off e-bay from a guy who restores them. The first one has the wrong shaft size on the back for my linkage. The second one just didn't work. The third one hasn't shown up. I havent seen any on e-bay. Lots of 3-speeds though. Where is the best place toi get one?he one from the parts store looked like shi! and had the wrong shaft size too. Thinking of just makeing it easy and putting in a 3 speed. All you need to change is the switch right?

A three spped will need the switch change only, but it also have provisions for the automatic windshield washer control.

76Duster,

I was in the same dilemma with my 69 RR except that I could find all kinds of two-speed motors and switches but no 3-speeds. I finally found a three-speed motor at a local garage and picked up a wiper switch at Carlisle.

Check eBay for the switch but don't search just for the switch. I don't know if it's the same for your year/model but for the 69 B-body, there are many more offers for switch panels (with ALL of the switcheds) than for individual switches.

If you're still missing a switch in August, let me know and I will pick one up for you at Carlisle.

Terry

76Duster,

Have you tried the junkyards for a suitable donor? I found one off an old Dart that I disassembled, stripped and refinished that works just fine, and is now in very good condition. Its an option for you to consider anyway. They come apart easily, and are easy to put back together. Good luck.
