Default 68 GTX fuel lines

We are currently working on our 1968 GTX convt 440 engine. We found that our fuel line is a 516 line and the vapour cannister is 516. The unit in the fuel tank is 38. The fuel line and cannister should be 38. Has anyone else come across this in theres or know why this is.
thanks

I think in 69 they started to change the size of the lines.
