Default What is this part?

I am trying to clean up my engine bay and I need to figure out what these 2 parts are and if I can do away with them.

The parts in question are black and mounted on the fenderwell. The one on the left has a vacuum line going to it, and the one on the right is inline with one of the heater hoses.

The pic is so small that you really can't see anything. If it has a vacume line going to it then there must be a door, or switch that it controls or is part of. Most likely heater or A/C. Same with the heater hose. Probably a valve to control temp.

The part to the left is a vacuum reservoir for the heat/AC controls, next to it on the right is the vacuum controlled water valve for the heater.

I guess I can bypass the ac vacuum reservior, but it looks like the heater valve has to stay?

Sorry about the small pics, I have to get my wife to teach me how to resize them.

Thanks for the info.
