No offense to you union guys, but its a very smart move. IMO one of the ways that the big 3 can turn things around is to get rid of the UAW influence. The trough is empty, but the piggies are still standing there to slurp up any tidbit that goes in.

I hope it is not too late for Chrysler. Look at the New Process Gear plant in New York. Magna is shutting it down and blaming the UAW for not giving them the conssessions that they wanted. Chrysler is also demanding another 25% price reduction from their suppliers. I don't see how suppliers can continue to work with Chrysler and lose money. I am not a fan of the UAW but I think that it is easy to blame labor. It looks like Chrysler has cut away all of the fat and muscle and they are now working on the bone. Executives are looking at Fiat to help save Chrysler and Fiat is looking toward U.S. taxpayers in order to make the transaction to go thru.
