Hi, I have 3 or these, 2 red ones I bought new and a white one. The 318 in them made 175 Hp which was 10 more Hp than the same motor in a regular pickup. They have a dual snorkel air cleaner and different exhaust manifolds. I've forgotten the exact details but I think they had a little higher stall converter. Also 3:90 or 3:91 gears in the rear. In 1989 they were pretty hot but the stock computer won't let the engine rev very tight. Back then "Shelby Performance" sold a "30 HP kit" which included a different computer, a 360 throttle body, and a low restriction muffler. They also offered a 100+ Hp nitrous oxide kit.
I use one of my trucks for a shop truck, am "saving" one, the other is a project. I still like them well enough after all these years I have no plans to buy a new truck.
Good luck, Dallas

I'll have to get out in the garage tomorrow and look, but I'm pretty sure they are the old flat type. I know for sure that Shelby welded in a new engine crossmember in front of the original one. I also remember looking in my crash books in the early 90"s and noticing that the exhaust manifolds listed for about a grand each! I assume (and you know where that gets you!) that they were Shelby-specific items. The crash book also listed two nameplates for the grille, red or white. I tried to order a red one but the part number was no good so I guess they were never actually offered. I'll get back with you on the mounts if I'm wrong about them.

Default Shelby Dackota's for 1990

I was just wondering how many 1990 Shelby Dackota's were maded. Now i don't clame to know any thing about any shelbly vehicle ever made but, i have seen a truck around twice with a sign in the window sying that it was one of a kind because it's the only 90 shelby dackota.it has all the striping the steering wheel and seats that are proper for a shelby dackota. if it helps the truck is white and i think it has the dash plaque stating it it the 583 shelby dackota made. he is trying to sell it for $15 000 Canadian but i don't have any contacts with him

just wondering?

As far as I know, the only 90s were prototypes, none were sold to the public. It was planned for them to be offered with 360 engines instead of the 318s in the 89s.
In 89 they made approximately twice as many red trucks as white ones with a total of 1500.
If you are certain the dash plaque is #583, I could have a friend check it out for you and see if it's an 89 or if it was used as a prototype for 90. He has alot of info on these trucks. I sold him my white one and I believe he has a total of 9 now.

i think it is 583 but i'm not certain about it. the guy selling it might be at mopar fest in new hamburg. i also know there is an other guy at mopar fest trying to sell a shelby dackota for $17 000 but he's been trying to sell it for years. i don't know the details on it but both trucks are white. i was just wondering about the 90 dackota because the sign said it was one of a kind and i wondered if this was real or not.
