Default I knew it.....Say goodbye to the new Challenger

Way back when it was announced that Fiat was buying controlling interest in Chrysler I said they are NOT interested in Chrysler/Dodge vehicles, they want American manufacturing to pump tiny Fiats into the American Market.
Looks like Damn-Liar is renigging on continuing to supply the LX parts. You can kiss it goodbye because that means goodbye Challenger, Charger and everything that is on the LX chassis.
I guess guys, go buy one now before production stops and the price doubles.
Here it is on AllPar.com

Hold on a minute! Did you actually read the article? I quote:

...Dodge will survive for a time on Charger and Challenger. Maybe Dodge will get some cars instead of or in addition to Chrysler, but I suspect each car will have one American brand and one or two Italian brands. Dodge Ram will grow with or without Cummins.

That’s apparently the future. Chrysler may or may not survive. Fiat may or may not put more resources in; Fiat may or may not keep the old names....

You can read "gloom & doom" into this if you want to. But nowhere do I see where it says the Challenger is gone.

If Fiat management is smart, the first thing they would do is try to get new designs in that rid Chrysler of anything Daimler supplied. It's not good business to be reliant on a competitor anyway. They can't do it overnight, but as soon as possible would be a good idea.

Yeah, that looks like part of the shareholders web conferance they had today. I was logged in waiting but for some reason I couldn't view it.
They are talking like things are going forward and looking bright, but I'm not so optimistic.
If the economics downturn didn't hit auto sales so hard, things would probably look much brighter. But keep in mind that Fiat's #1 goal is pumping fiat cars into the American market. Not keeping Dodge,Chrysler vehicles afloat if things go bad.

There is a chart in that pdf that shows the Challenger line solid for the next few years...

Well, I guess I'd better get serious about the Challenger.

Getting the LX-based cars away from depending on Daimler-Benz-supplied components could be a good thing, providing Fiat either allows Chrysler engineering to design/develop the replacement stuff, or has a better idea. The LX, Jeeps, and trucks are the last true North American style products Chrysler has left. I certainly hope Fiat can build on those values, but I'm not holding my breath. Also, read Allpars stuff on the new V-6 - now that could be a real game-changer. Impressive engineering for sure.
