went to a alternator rebuilt shop and got a use back with all +/-diodes and condenser recheck.
the front part of the alternator look fine,

Make sure the nuts on the ammeter are tight. That is a common failure mode, and can be intermittent- they're loose, get hot and then spotweld back on, etc.

Disconnect the battery before you check or tighten the nuts.

Also check the bulk head connection. Sometimes the 1/4" blade connection can decay or burn up. Look into bypassing the bulkhead with hard lines. check the link attached. Its a nice weekend project.

Good luck.

P.S. Rattus is right on We all know it but we all need to keep hearing it.."Disconnect The Battery While Working On Anything Electrical."

Heh...I know TWO people who have melted their wedding rings while working on the electrical system and shorting something to ground. Don't wear a ring, either, if you're gonna work on a hot system.

Whatever happened to said Fury? Is it charging, yet?
