Matt, I just checked my GTS decoding book and the "1" under the "X" of the 5th line is for Glass- "tinted all around" and the "4" next to it under the "Y" is for "vinyl roof-green".

Does your RR have front disc brakes? It decodes as having this option.

Here's what else I decoded;

A - 1 = 26" Radiator
C - 4 = H.D. Suspension with sway bar
D - 9 = Disc brakes front, Rear drums
F - 0 = Decor Package
H - 1 = Power brakes
N - 8 = Rear window defoger
P - 6 = Speakers rear seat
R - 1 = Radio AM
S - 1 = Air conditioning with heater
X - 1 = Glass- tinted all windows
Y - 4 = Vinyl Roof- green

m - 6 = Mirror outside LH remote

Pretty cool '68 Road Runner with lots of options.

Matt, I have a question regarding my '68 RR, your engine photo shows what appears to be a "RED" Road Runner "pie pan" logo on the air cleaner cover top and I have seen these in "orange", which color should it be for a '68 RR?

Does anyone out there know which RR years are red and which use orange? Thanks in advance.

WOW!!! thanks a lot!!!
yep, it has power disc brakes in the front. green vinyl roof too.

i'm pretty sure the picture quality isn't the greatest on the pie pan, i think it's orange. not sure when they switched over.

thanks again!!

Matt, you list Ohio and New Mexico as locations, where in Ohio and New Mexico?

The reason I ask is my '68 and '69 RR's are in El Paso, TX being restored by a friend of mine and thatÂ’s not too far from New Mexico. Also I have family that lives in Ohio and get out there to visit a lot.

I also have a '69 1/2 440 6bbl Road Runner that is one of two known in Y4 Spanish Gold Metallic.

Regard

i'm from a small town about 50 miles west of columbus, wilmington. but right now i'm in phoenix working but will most likely be going to albuquerque in a few weeks. i see you're in morgantown, i've got an uncle there that works at GE Specialty Chemicals. actually, i'm originally from Ripley, WV...ever hear of it??? Its about and hour south of parkersburg.
