Default Transmission ID number

I have the number 2466901, I think as it was hard to get to, stamped on my transmission. Can anyone help me with what this might be out of and is it a 727? Thanks.

What you found was probably a raised casting number, the part number is stamped in the drivers side of the main case just above the pan gasket.
