pics of California (N95 ?) exhaust ?
my car was originally built in CA
CA cars (from what I've read and been told) did NOT come with chrome exhaust tips (options code N95, I believe - part of the emission control deal) they should have come with turn downs, and the dual exhaust should exit closer to the sides of the car, rather than on both sides of the license plate I've searched a bit, but can't seem to find a pic Anyone ? |

I think that someone fed you some false information.
I lived in CA until the ripe old age of 24 (1990). I saw plenty of original cars that had factory chrome tip. Most of the were E-bodies, however, I did see plenty of others with the chrome tips. |

for B body Road Runner specific cars
did you notice that they had "turn down" tail pipe extensions ?? I see them in the Plymouth Service manual |

I have seen the chrome turn downs. I'm not sure what the most common was in CA, at the time.
I know that my '68 Charger was a CA car; however, it predates the N95 option. So, I can't use it for example. |

Some California cars were stuck with the N97 Noise Reduction Package which meant they had to have turndown tailpipes.
Small block powered cars didn't usually require the N97. |

At least for '66 - '71, all of my documentation shows N95 to be Evaporative Emission System (NOX reduction). That has nothing to do with Noise Reduction. My documentation shows A28 and/or N97 as the Noise Reduction Package.

I kind of guessed that it was a typo, as your information is normally dead on.
My primary purpose in the links was to give Ram Man some more information. A couple of them looked to have some great information on that as well as RoadRunners in genral. |
