Default 81 plymouth fury cop car??

i bought an 81 plymouth fury this past fall because the guy had rebuilt a 440 and but in it and put and 8 3/4 rear end.
if confused about this car, it is orginally a 318 supposed cop car but he put a bb k frame in it, now shouldn't it have the torsion bars up front of the k frame?? this one has the torsion bars going to the rear cross member? is this right or has some one done alot of work? also what kind of car could he have got the k-frame out of and the rear end? he said the rear end was out of a 70 chrysler 300, could that be right and also be where the k fram came from??

at least one good thing is i got a good 440 and trans, and a limited slip diff for my car at a really good price

An '81 police car would have had a 360 and an A998 auto with 8 1/4 axle with varying gears ratios depending on it's intended use and optional sure grips. You car has been put together much like the race cars we build since it should have cross torsion bars. I'd build it up since it should be real easy to make it handle as high speeds.

well the drive train(engine, trans., and rear end) are going into my coronet, i just don't understand why the torsion bars are this way. i do know the car was originally a 318 car

We build mostly oval track race cars. If you want to run an A body you will quickly find out that the front end geometry in stock form is junk. We install B and E front clips in those cars to get a better stock clip to start with before making mods to it.

In this case the guy wanted a 440 and had no clue that he could get cross torsion bars from a '78 440 police car and would had a great stock suspenion as it was without doing all that work. Guess he did not know and just installed the engine and complete front clip to make it simpler for him. In fact, he just did a lot of extra work for nothing.
