Don't know if it is the best but I do autocross and the suspension was hand built with that in mind..

I have a Hotchkis lowering kit with Bilstein shocks. It does alright, but its no viper.

Ditto the full Hotchkis set up. It may not be a Viper, but I out handle stock GM F-bodies, and the Mustangs easily.

Hand built suspension parts Trueblue? Dude, you rock. I'm very interested in the Hotchkis suspension and plan on doing it once I can spare the cash. Outhandling F-bodies and 'Stangs easily, that's exactly what I want to hear, espescially after getting schooled in the twisties by my sisters Stratus R/T (I know I know, but I blow it's doors off on the straightaways, heh heh). You guys got pics?

When my truck was a V6, I use to autocross a lot. Since I have done the v8 swap I have only autocrossed once with the 318 and I spent most of the day doing donuts. I wasnt use to all the extra power. IT still handles pretty good, and now I am use to the power so I know when I can and cant goose it.
Here are a few pics of me on the AutoX track..these pics are at least 4 years old. |

i used to autocross my 94 dakota at school. it was pretty much stock except for a few minor mods. i had some old tires and pump them up to about 60 psi so the sidewalls wouldn't fold. didn't do to bad... i've got a few pics and a movie at the circle track... it was always a good time.. check out the movies they are pretty cool...

I don't really push it but I know my '01 AWD CC 4.7 corners very strongly. I wonder if anyone with AWD has tried to compare performance with conventional but similarly set up 2wd or part time 4wd. Intuitively I would think AWD adds to handling ability.

VERY COOL links, pics and videos guys, keep 'em coming! It's a shame more people on this board aren't into handling, especially when these trucks have so much potential.
Hey Dan Cuda, I see your running the stock wheels. I always thought the 17's were a big part of getting these trucks to handle. Do those wheels hurt handling any compared to a set of 17's? I was thinking of getting a set of 17'' R/T wheels but I wanna keep unsprung weight to a minimum. |

my truck handels pretty decently , the drop, wide wheels and big diameter front and rear suspention technique sway bars make a huge difference over stock, I think some 17's would make it handel a good bit better also, they are probably gonna be next on the list when i need new tires.

Im running stock 16x8s. The 17s may be better, but my 16s do just fine. Goodyears are real good tires. I run my truck very hard. It handles flawlessly. And with Eagle LS tires, you get added ride as well.

Love those autocross pics, I wanna try that! Mine handles way better with the 17x10s on it. A friend has the Kenny Brown X-brace, that is definitely on my list. Can't wait for the 5.9 donuts!!!
