I had Air Lift 1000 on the rear of my old RC. They improved handling but rode hard, even at 4 lbs.

I have Firestone Air Springs on my truck. Excellent. Levels the ride with a nearly 2 ton load on my truck. When aired down, you can't even tell they are there. Great investment I made IMO.

Thanks for the info guys. I think thats the way to go. I added a leaf to my 90 Dakota didn't really help. Put overloads on my 89 W150 made it ride like a 1 ton even tho they weren't even on the bump stops. Ram100 did you install them yourself any tips if you did or, is it pretty much straight foreword.
Thanks David

I installed them myself a about 6 years?? ago and the only pain was drilling my frame. I bought about 4 bits because it was hard to keep the bit lubed while drilling. I fabbed up a bracket where the two fillers go and its right on my back bumper.

It moved the suspension away from hitting the bump stops and took a good chunk of pressure off the stock suspension when hauling. Works great for bed loads and towing as well. I keep 5 lbs in it when not hauling and you wouldn't even notice.

To give you an idea of what weight I was hauling my truck is rated at 3,800 lbs-plus payload and there were times before the install where I was right near or on the bump stops. After the install, the truck sat totally level if not slightly higher in the back with the same load.
