Challenger R/T and Holley
Hi
Im finally recived my bought by e-bay original holley for R/T 383 1970 According to the list in shop manual it should be a 4160-list 4369-A The one I bought is marked list 4369-1 and seems to be correct according to the pics in the manual. 2BIG Q Anyone out there who could mail me a pic of both passenger and driver side of the carb, mounted on a original intakemanifold. Im really intrested of how the choke was connected,I have the levers but not any "clock",any who knows about fact, please contact me. Im searching for a holley rebuilt kit, when you look at different dealers page2,"fits this model" the 4369 is not represented at any list. It looks like the others but what kit is correct? Anyone out there now about some intake gasket that seals the preheating channels on the 906 heads on my Chrysler 383-70?? Hope for an answer and good continue to all out there................Olle B |

I can't answer your first questions about your carburator, but I think that the intake gasket you are looking for is the FelPro #1214. This is the metal valley pan which blocks the exhaust crossovers. They are available through PAW, Summit, or any other racing catalog. However, if you block the cross overs then you have completely defeated the use of your thermostatic choke. I'm pretty sure Holley makes an electric choke for your application, but it would not be factory correct if that is what you are looking for.

I checked my holley records and they are the same. I copied it.
Below is a copy from holley's list book. R-4368-2AAS 4160-C 1970 Chrysler 383 Eng. A/T chrylser #3418542 42 R-4369A 4160-C 1970 Chrys. 383 Eng. A/T Emissions chrysler #3418562 62 R-4369-1A 4160-C 1970 Chrys. 383 Eng. A/T Emissions chrysler #3418562 62 R-4369-2AAS 4160-C 1970 Chrysler 383 Eng. A/T chrysler #3418562 62 R-4370 4160-C 1970 Chrysler 383 Eng. M/T I'm showing #'s before and after R-4369. I don't have any pic's of either one. And the choke is a standard chrysler choke well type. No gasket for the choke. Make sure the vacuum choke pull off is working. If the diaphram is gone the engine will run rich until it is at normal temparture. The choke well (in the manifold) two holes. One threaded and the other just a hole. The choke has a hole one end and a tab on the other. The choke sits ontop of the choke well and uses one 1/4" bolt. The tab sits in the other hole. There is a rod from the choke that connects to the carb that operates the choke. No part number for the choke. I hope that helps.................... |
