If they're 360 heads, they should take 2.02's with no problem.

I figured they would… I think they have 1.78's stock… maybe not. I thought I'd pick this up for some parts… has a Q-jet intake on it.

they should be 1.88/1.60. I'm pretty sure that's what's on my Barracuda right now. That engine was a '77 360.

I think you are correct on the 1.88's… and the hard seats won't hurt anything either.

They have a tendency to crack but otherwise an OK head to use.

Well I picked up a late 80's 318 with 302 heads. Probably the dirtiest engine I've seen in 20 years or more… must have changed the oil every 30K or so… but the heads look good. This may be my super stock engine as I can't get my 360 until spring.

I also picked up my J heads from the machine shop… installed 2.02/1.6 valves (11/32), Comp 911-16 springs which I will have to change…too wimpy. Not sure why my guy chose those things. They have been angle milled .060… should be about 65-66cc or so. New guides, teflon seals… should be OK.

So right now, with my tight budget, it looks like we'll have the J heads on a 318… film at eleven.

Good way to kill a 318. Make it an even bigger turd.
I have ran every set of heads, my favorite are the ones that are easiest, cheapest to replace.

The plan was for a 360 but I can't get the engine until spring… trying to beat the late winter rush at the shop… gotta run what I have in stock.

Maybe I'll do a cheap valve job and mill the 302's and save the J's for the 360.

If you can wait a bit I'll get them pulled off after the holidays… my cam guy sez they aren't right for what he will grind for me.
