how many quarts does a 904 trans hold?/fluid to use
just got my 904 trans back gotta go buy some fluid was woundering how much this will hold? so i buy close to the right amount
what kinda fluid/brand do you recamend |

73 Factory Service Manual says 17 pints - 8.5 quarts.

Here's a debate going on right now about what fluid to use or not.

If all things are stock (stock size converter and non deep pan then I'd say a maximum of about 9 quarts. There is generally some in the converter (even fresh rebuilts) so you may only need 8. 8.5 sounds reasonable though.
As for the fluid to use I use and recommend Amsoil synthetic. I use it in the race 904 and my tow vehicles A-618 or 48RH what ever you want to call it. The Amsoil will last a season in a transbrake equipped race car without a cooler where the other mineral fluid lasts for about 15 passes at best before it's toast. As a bonus the Amsoil will also provide an increase of about 200 RPM's in stall speed. |

what about b&m quick shift
i hurd b&m quick shoft was same as type f im confuesed which one to use people say som many diff things this mainly street car once in a while the strip has 2000 or 2500 stahl conv would b&m quick shift be good?
