Default Posting new jokes...

Please know that there are individuals that are "underage" that visit our website & some jokes are inappropriate. In the future, you may see that type disappear.

Thanks,

What is considered to be inappropriate? I've read more than one thread that I wouldn't want my kids to see, and these were in technical forums, not jokes.

I agree with you!!!
If you feel any thread is offensive in nature just report it or send a private message(PM) to the Mod or poster involved.
There is enough porn, sexual content, etc. floating around the net, so there is really no need to bring it in here.

So just out of curiosity, if I were to say you were going to pull out a can of whip ass on the next person who posted and unaccepatble joke should it be posted as;

WHIP ASS!
whip ass!
whip a**!
whip #$@!
kickin butt
Am I still allowed to say Laughing my ass off or is the acronym LMAO only acceptable?

This has been a test of the acceptable joke system and only a test.

I really cant say I blame you Billybob. Even though i have told a few jokes and said some things that might be unacceptable, if I had a kid I wouldnt want him or her reading it either.

Come to think I dont think I'd even let a kid of mine near the internet unless I was there to watch em, theres just too many dangers on it now.

I'm just mentioning the fact that we all need to be a little more careful about what material we bring to our site.
I enjoy a good joke as well as the next person, but there is a time & place for everything.

Come on Dick, just because most of us don't act our ages don't mean we're actually 15 y/o

What a sad world it would be if everyone acted according to their age.

I guess I should be looking at profiles. I just ass umed that everybody was mature. I just didn't think that ....Well, I guess I just didn't think.

I'll tone it down. No sense in corrupting another perfectly good male.

I'm not bad, I'm just drawn that way.....

In this case, it wouldn't do much good. This particular member changed his profile to remove his age and the fact that he was a student. You just never know.

Sure. Let's expose every kid right from infanthood to all the nasty stuff in society so he can get used to offensive and crude people and learn how to talk like them. That way, he will fit right in and nobody will ever call him a wussie............you know, one of those reasonably decent folks who exercises some care and consideration whenever they speak or write in a public forum.

My definition of a wussie is the kind of people that go running to their therapists and lawyers everytime someone says something that bruises their fragile little ego. I'm just dismayed at the recent rash of censorship on here. This has been one of the best joke forums around, and now all of a sudden we're worried about offending people. On top of that, I find it incredibly ironic that a video of a Dodge Durango tv commercial was removed from a Mopar site.

It's not so much as censorship, just a little common sense! And so I don't bruise your ego Groundpounder18, this is something you & others will just have to deal with.

If any of you want to keep "testing" me in the joke forum, consider this a warning.

DO NOT DO IT!

Thank you,
BB

In the past two weeks, the jokes have just been uncalled for, really. To the point that even I think they are over the edge.

So, that would be bad, right?

One more thing, I have learned. When tons of jokes are posted a day, some members tend to get "bored" with the jokes, and quit reading them. Just because there are so many, and so many replies to read through. There are only so many jokes in this world, we can take the time to savor them!

Its been this bad before here too. A few yrs ago me and several others were banned from the board, and what for i still cant figure out. And slowly but surely things are getting as bad here now as they were then. If anybody sees a joke title in the forum that sounds like it might offend them and they open it and get offended its nobodies fault but theirs. It aint like we put a gun to their heads and forced them the read the joke.

Now what would be so offensive about a tv commercial?

And truckboy, I do have to agree with you there. Theres been a few jokes that I've found to be a little over the top, not offensive, but like you say just to the point of being over the edge.

Its not just us Dick, or any other message board. That same kid can turn on the TV or just leave the house anytime he wants to and see and hear stuff just as bad or even worse than he could ever see here.

Sorry, what media sources or the street have available is not justification to pollute our board. The attitude of "we will do it because everybody else does it" is a poor excuse for baudy content.

Let Moparchat be known for higher standards instead of same old, same old.

Heres an idea, just a shot in the dark. Home computers have filters on them that if turned on and set to a certain level blocks out any kind of offensive websites. Couldnt something like that be used here to filter out jokes or posts in the forums that you guys find offensive? If it can be used, use one, that way theres no more offensive material on here and this headache is no more.

Quicker and much cheaper to just edit or delete the junk and or ban the poster.

Filters aren't necessary and shouldn't be used as a substitute for decency.

Again, just common courtesy and reasonable taste are all that is required.

As Dick has mentioned, some common decency & common sense is all that is required. Leave the trash elsewhere............

RAM1500,
The best filter we have available on this board is the "Ban Member" feature & seems to work quite well.

I am going to stand in on this with Dick. I belong to a lot of other forums, but out of all of them, there have been only two that I really like and
Moparchat is on the top of the list. Main reason is because it is soooooo much cleaner overall and I found the people here to be so much more decent too. I appreciate that. I don't know if it's because on most of those forums, many of the people know me in person and treat me differently compared to on here only a couple (that I know of so far) know me. Bottom line, this place doesn't sicken me, for multiple obvious reasons and I know that I've mentioned it to many of you, that those other forums make me feel like I'm in the middle of Sodom and Gomorrah and worse than Spring Break in Daytona. I really like this forum and all the members so far and I'd love it if it stayed a decent environment.

Even though I don't have children, I do agree strongly about the need to try to do our best to keep all types of environments clean if not out of respect for others or ourselves, at least for our children, and theirs, and so on. People going around thinking just because the rest of the world is souring up, that means that we all have to deal with it, accept it. Bull freaking crap.

Those attitudes are the reasons, mainly why things are the way they are now compared to way back when, (i.e., when gram and pap were growing up), because people are too easy to go with the flow and settle for the way things are now days and either lack the initiative or intestinal fortitude to take a stand and stick to their beliefs and start an effort on trying to clean up shop and focus on their family and the overall way they live their lives in general, by instilling morals, values, etc. in our children, even their friends, NOW so that they may continue this and it endure many generations on.

I'm not posting this to try to go off on certain individuals, honestly not my intentions nor place and I have to room to talk, but just taking the time to read through the things here and actually taking in and understanding all sides and the concept to the fullest extent, really put me to thinking. Not meaning we all have to change or anything, just that it would make a difference if people would at least make an effort to try to utilize common sense and take the time to pause and think a minute about what they're about to say or do. It may be surprising what a difference that could make.

I mean, after all, you wouldn't go grab your mate and start making love on the living room floor while your children and their friends are there playing video games? Of course not, the place is in the privacy of your bedroom and the time is usually when the children are asleep or not at home. So, we should think the same about the jokes and stuff here and wherever, along with our actions, period. If you have an awesome joke, that may not be clean enough to post here, but you're just dying to share it with others, what about making a post saying you have that type of joke and if anyone else wants to see it, to IM you or something to that effect. I'm sure someone will think of a way if it's that important to them.

Flame me for this post if you want, I'm not afraid to let it be known that I'm going to make more than a 100% effort in raising my children the ways I know are fit and I'm secure in thought that I will acheive that goal and have awesome children that I'd never be ashamed of for any reason.

You can go ahead and grab your rifles and coon dogs now, and commence to tracking me down for this.

We don't need no coon dogs, we will get Ram1500 and Chuzz to sniff you out.

Haha....

So, the joke rules are settled right? Were good now? I think so.
