Eagle Rods
They have discontinued the SIR 6.123cp press fit rods. Any ideas looking at the 6.125 and boring g it out to make press fit. Rules require it.

No we don't it just has to be a press fit pin. But we're done with the eagle crap anyway broke our second engine last week, rod bolt broke on #3 and wasted the engine. I think the tach is wrong in the car and I think we are getting close to 7000 rpm's with these sir rods and they will not stand it. Back to stock rods or me. I have seen the rod bolts break and they all are at the first thread into the rod itself. Going back to nut and bolt style.

Eagle SIR Rods
We are mandated to run the Eagle SIR rods in the Midwest mod class or stock rods. I built an engine for a customer that wanted to use the SIR rods. To date, the engine has seen 7,500 rpm with no issues. It is in a 318 with a light piston/pin. It also has low friction piston rings which is a minor help.
The only issue I had was that the bolts were only 3/8" in diameter, but that is what the stock rod bolt is also. |
