PK 3898869 5555 8659

PK= Plant Kokomo

3898869= A 727 from a 1977 400/440 truck/van with the HD extension housing and rear timing

5555= Build date October 12, 1976

8659= Sequence number, the 8659th built that day

It'll fit in a '70 car but the HD tail might cause come clearance problems.

Thanks John

Yes the tailhousing had the bearing release access plate on the side of the tailhousing.

I was hoping it was a small block piece to use the main case only. Darn

Quickest way I've found to ID a big block/small block bellhousing is to measure the distance between the top transmission-to-engine mount bolt holes.

The big block bellhousing hass about 6-3/8" between top holes. Not sure what the small block number is but it's more than that; probably 9 or 10 inches or so.

No need to measure, just eyeball the bottom four bolt holes on the bellhousing. BB has four equal sized holes, SB has two small and two larger.
