Well engineered AC swap
Just thought I'd share this with you guys.
My 85 lebaron gts 2.2 turbo, recently developed a heater core problem. The car didn't come with AC. I parted out an AC car 2 years ago. Upon pulling out the heater/air box, I found the two are virtually identical(except for the presence of the evaporator core) The control panel must also be changed, but there is no wiring required. In fact, the wiring for all the switches, and the compressor, are pressent (from the factory) on the non AC car too. All I have to do is bolt in my compressor, brackets, lines, and condensor, and I'm ready for a summer of nice cool rides. So, if your heater has gone for crap, you may consider the AC upgrade too. |

Could be.
If it was at a glass shop, it could have been Moores Glass. It was on 53rd ave SE. back then. My shop is across the street. The van has a brief blurb in the readers rides section of mopar action(april 03 issue) Found a copy at chapters in chinook center. I've been meaning to put a picture of it, in my logon, but I can't figure out how to make it small enough. I'm not much of a computer guy. I'm 5'11" with dark hair, a short beard, and wire rimmed glases. also little heavy around the middle, 230 lbs. Those glh's are cool. Even a big lump like my gts goes pretty good once you've got the turbo wound up. |
