Eddy RPM heads... Questions???
Hey all,
FNG here. Need some input. Thinking of the Eddy rpm heads. Currently running 906's w bowl blend and 2.14/1.81s'. 72 Satellite, KB quenchdomes 9.44 static comp. 727, 3:55's (sure grip is shot may go 3:91's) Harland Sharpe rockers punched an exhaust valve tip. So, Q: are the eddy's a good investment, as far as performance out of the box? Q: with the 11/32 (or even the 3/8") valve stems should I run lash caps with the HS rockers? Q: If I run the Eddy's will MP steel shim head gaskets work with the Eddy aluminium heads? Car ran a best 13:43 @ 104 corr. Any and all input is appreciated. Anyone with this combo? Thanks all, John G |

Everything I've heard and read - Awesome heads!
I read an article about the eddy's in one of the Mopar magazines and they couldn't say enough about them. Right out of the box they said they were so well made and prepped, there wasn't really room for any improvement. Bolted on as they were I think they made 45 more horses over stock. When I build my 440 I'm definitely going with these heads. No question. At only $1325 they're a steal. I've also talked with a few people at some of the car shows and everyone I spoke with had nothing but praise for these heads.

The EB heads are 84cc and 88cc. They are the best bang for the buck, when it comes to heads on a street/strip engine.

Edelbrock recommends Fel Pro 1009 head gaskets. That's what the instructions say. Always test fit the gaskets to make sure they fit properly especially with overbored engines.

the E heads work fine out of the box in a combo like yours, and should be a nice step up from the OE heads.
if youre running quench dome pistons with a positive deck height, you'll need to run the 88cc head...and you still may need to modify the dome height for proper quench. 10:1CR on pump gas is no problem with these heads provided you retain good quench characteristics. the HS rockers are bit long on the E heads(and most OE heads too), and the roller is definately out near the edge of the valve. lash caps certainly wouldnt hurt to gain some diameter on the top of the valve. the Crane Golds seem to have a better placement of the roller on the valve tip. if youre running 1.6 or higher ratio rockers, you'll likely have to clearance the intake pushrod tunnels. |
