Perhaps a MoPar book on Big Blocks would do you fine. P4876825 is the part # to order from a Mopar performanve dealer or a mail order house.
It covers all B/RB eng.'s and whats good to use on them from MOM MoPar. Can't go wrong.

"don't try to shave punds from a few places, but shave ounces from many places" 100 pounds is a tenth of a second. I am in the same boat(building a car for low 11s w/ 431)

I heard it slightly differently:

"The best way to remove 100 pounds from a vehicle is to find 1600 places to remove an ounce".

Weight reduction alone won't put a stock 440 into the 11's, unless you put it in a go-cart. Well, something a lot lighter than a Challenger at least. Take rumblefish's advice and get the Mopar performance book. At least the catalog. There's a whole section on proven mods, set up for how quick you want to go. That way the time and money you spend are put to best use.
