Help 06 Hemi HELP!!!!

hey guys. I have an 06 ram with the hemi. last Saturday the engine started to miss and I brought it to the shop and had cylinder 4 reactivation code for the MDS cylinder shut down system. anyway up on further inspection I found the lifter for that cylinder had taken a crap. I removed the cylinder head and have confirmed that. now my question is should I be worried about the camshaft? I've seen the chevy engines when the lifters fail chew the cam but this is the first hemi and of couse its mine that I've had to tear into. I used a scope and inspected cam thru the lifter bore and it appears ok. anyone have any experience in this yet? I'm looking at a kit thru ebay with lifters, all gaskets and head bolts for $600 to fix this as funds are very tight right now for me.

What part of the lifter is bad? If the cam surface of the lifter is not damaged, you should be able to just change the lifter and not worry about the cam, because this is a roller. You should check the oil feed to that lifter. If that is plugged up, a new lifter will also fail. Unfortunately 600 bucks is about right for the parts. I didn't realize that parts are so high. Yikes!

If the roller on the bad lifter looks ok, I'd just replace the lifter. Done tons and tons of GM lifters, and cams. But their lifter actually turns sideways in the hole.
