Default Offenhauser dual-quad for 413/440, any good or don't bother??

I've been seeing these intakes on ebay, and I know a guy who'll sell me one for $140. its an offy dual quad, low rise, no part# but has 360* [degree that is] cast on it. I figure I can hook it up with edelbrock 500's manual choke and the edelbrock linkage kit. If anybody knows about these intakes, had one or a friend who did I appreciate any feedback. I was planning to install it in my 62 chrysler 300 413 engine. thanks all

Had a friend that had one on a '73 Charger with stock dual avs's. Run really fast. Even used the stock duel air cleaner on it.

$140.00 sounds like a good price if it's in good condition. I have an old (2000) PAW catalog, and they were selling it for $255.00 four years ago.

btw, Edlebrock carbs are the way to go. THe Offy's seemed to produce a little more "uumph" with Carters than they did with Holleys... the catalog says AFB's are required on the Mopar small block dual quad manifold. It also says, "no Holleys whatsoever, not even sideways".
No recommendation for carbs on the RB manifold, though.

buy it

they work well.Afriend had one on a 70 super bee with 3.91s and stock converter it would carry the left front for about 100 ft,when we put 3.23s in it it would get 15 mpg too with AFBs.

I'd stay far away from edles, but the stock afb's or better yet the avs's will be the carbs to use on it.

ok, sounds pretty good. the dual-quad offy will fit the retro theme i'm after with this car. black urathane primer job w/red scallops, widewhites with some cool hubcaps, red &white interior, wolf whistle, and maybe flamethrowers for the hyundai honking its horn behind me.

Holleys are so much longer than carter/edelbrocks (practically same AFB carbs, except the new "AVS" Edelbrock), that they very seldom fit in to these low inline dual quads.

PAW part # OFF-5206 2004 catalog has it for $254.95 fits 413-426-440 Wedge engines. Note from catalog: If using Holley carbs, you may have to mount them sideways. Special adapters available to offset Holley carbs.
