Default 420hp? I don't think so....

Here's a nice little engine, but the combo is all wrong for 420 HP's! I think it's more in the range of 320 HP's at the most....Doesn't even have a decent set of heads....

He doesn't list enough specs to get the whole picture.
Carb? Flat or domed pistons? Headers? Ignition? stock rods or H-beam? Port job on the heads? not to mention other cam specs.

Overall, 420 isn't LIKELY but not altogether impossible....There are people making well over 400 on those heads.

Too many unanswered questions

(oh, and I love the very used balancer)

The valves are way too small, but it will easily make over 400 hp. We can get 400 plus out a 500 cfm 2bbl 360 with stock cast thermoquad intake and J heads, so this is very easily reached with that big cam he's running. It's bigger than our custom jobs, but I still think it's a mismatched set up.

I have learnt that there are pretty many different size horsepowers here on the earth. I actually once had a very similar "mismatched combo", heads were untouched 1.88/1.60 high swirls, the cam a MP 292 unit and the intake a performer. So, pretty much the same. It run pretty decently, 13.26/107 mph in a 3500 lbs car with 3.23 gears and 205 radial tires. I think it made around 300-350 true hp.

I'm with DartGT66 on this one. Some rate with Shetlands, and some with Clydesdales.

that's right; you can make the calculated hp figures to suit your taste by altering the car weight!
